Salendine Nook Playgroup
The Salendine Nook Pre School Playgroup was established in 1975 and is based in the Church Hall.
Covering the whole of Salendine Nook and surrounding areas they provide a safe and secure environment for children aged 2½ to 5 years old to learn and have fun.

Their aims are:-
- to enhance the development and education of children under statutory
school age in a parent-involving, community based group.
- to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment
- to work within a framework which ensures quality of opportunity
for all children and families.
They offer
- A curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes
- Individual care and attention made possible by a high ratio
of adults to children
- Fun and friendship with children and other adults
- The support of a personal keyworker
- Opportunities for families to be directly involved in the activities
of the group and their child's progress
- A setting which is registered with OFSTED and listed in Kirklees Early
years Development and Childcare Plan
- Nursery Education Funding is available for all 4 yr olds and most 3yr
olds, if eligible
- The Playgroup is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance
