The history of Salendine Nook Baptist Church is entwined in the history of the Baptist movement in this part of West Yorkshire, and beyond. A brief history is included see below.

In 2009 a set of papers were discovered in the Church, these were part a series that had been split. They have now been united, and are in the Huntington Library in California. The papers are letters between three brothers John, Thomas and Jabez Stutterd in the late 18th Century. Articles have been published in the Nook News, these are available from the links below
